Nanokeratin Re-Juvenate Refining Hair Mask Review

Nanokeratin System have created the perfect antidote to the british winter weather with three brand new treatments to give your hair an instant boost with their revolutionary technology enhanced with biomimetic ingredients.  These ingredients mimic and replace lost keratin and bring a multitude of benefits to your hair, including a series of hand-selected vitamins and essential oils known to keep the hair strong, feeling smooth and looking incredibly shiny.

Each mask has been formulated for a different hair type:
RE-VITALISE Revitalising Mask: Nourish hair from roots to tip with this revitalising mask designed to deep-condition and rejuvenate natural/virgin hair.
RE-PLENISH Colour Preserving Mask: Replenish hair from roots to tips with this colour-preserving mask designed to nourish and revive hair from within.
RE-JUVENATE Refining Mask*: Rejuvenate chemically treated hair with this refinishing mask designed to nourish your hair from within for a smooth silky look and feel.
I was sent the Re-Juvenate Refining Mask to try as I have chemically treated hair.  The tub is a huge 500ml!
The mask does not contain parabens and the list of ingredients (from the Nanokeratin website) Ricinus Communis oil, Biotin Plus, Keramimic (pure keratin), Mythuline Seporga, Keravis, Vitamin E acetate, glycine soja (soybean) protein, Geranium Maculatum (Geranium) oil.

Get your Keratin fix two ways!
Leave it to the Pro
These new Nanokeratin System masks are available as an in-salon treatment so if you feel like spoiling yourself, add one onto your next cut or colour appointment – Usually costing about £20 (varies per salon/ location etc), it takes only about an extra 20 mins on top of your appointment time and your hair will feel smoother and look shiner than ever before.

D.I.Y – If you fancy a little bit of a treat in your own home these masks are available retail so that you can create your own hair spa at home more regularly than you might be able to visit the salon!  The Mask Treatments RRP at £57.29 but as they come in a super-size 500ml it does work out at as a really good value luxury product.
The mask is a pale lilac colour and is heavily scented, it smells very luxurious.  The usage in the picture is after using the mask 7-8 times! Hardly any has gone and I have long hair.  This tub will last me a long time and will now become a weekly treat.

The mask only has to be applied for 2-3 minutes which is brilliant for me as having a little baby means pamper time is limited!  I find my hair is a lot smoother after using and the ends of my hair are not as dry as they were.

I am off to the hairdressers tomorrow and I am going to take this tub with me to show them as I think they would be really pleased with the results from applying the mask.

Nanokeratin System is one of the most prescriptive keratin ranges available.  Nanokeratin Stockists include leading hairdressers Michael Van Clarke, Daniel Galvin, Paul Edmonds, Errol Douglas, Karine Jackson and nationwide groups - Sassoons, Toni & Guy, RUSH, SAKS, Sean Hanna, Headmasters, Essensuals, Regis

You can read more about Nanokeratin products on their website.

Magnitone Pulsar Review

Make way for this year’s hottest new skin cleansing system and youth boosting beauty tool - Magnitone Pulsar*. This revolutionary device is designed with Active Electromagnetic Technology to help you achieve visibly younger, smoother, clearer and fresher feeling skin in just 7 days.

Different to anything else currently on the market, Magnitone Pulsar features 4 innovative cleansing modes that allow you to focus on areas of both the face and body in need of specific attention. The technically advanced brush head provides over 15,000 rotational oscillations per minute, ensuring that skin all over the body receives a much deeper exfoliation and more thorough cleanse without any irritation.
The skin cleansing system can be used in a variety of ways - deep clean, exfoliate, sensitive (you would need to purchase the sensitive brush separately) and massage!  It can be used all over the body, which I think is a great way hassle free way to buff your skin.
The box contains:
2 brush heads: 1 x Active Clean, 1 x Body Cleanse
Magnitone Pulsar Brush
Magnetic wireless charging stand and plug
Instructions for use
12 month warranty card
Once charged the brush holds its charge for up to three weeks which makes it handy for packing in your suitcase to take on holiday without having to take the charger etc.

I have tried other facial cleansing systems and found them to be quite harsh and sometimes even painful.  I didn't find that at all with the Magnitone Pulsar, I could happily use it twice a day as recommended.  The brush is nice and soft against the skin and is lovely to use.  I have given away the other facial brush I had (Sorry Boots No7!) and the Magnitone has now become an important part of my skincare routine.

My skin has had less breakouts since I have started using it and I have no flaky patches that I usually get now that the cold weather has set in.  It gets a double thumbs up from me.

This would be perfect for a Christmas present and is currently on offer for £58.50 here you can also buy it at BootsAmazon and other online stockists.

You Beauty Discovery Box - Party Prep

The You Beauty Discovery Box for December is themed around Party Prep.  I have had a box every month now since it launched in September and I have really liked every box.  They are an absolute bargain for £6.95 inc delivery.  It is the only beauty box that I sub to now.

The way the boxes work is that on the 1st of the month the new choices are released, you pick two of the choices and You Beauty add in a couple of extras which are the same for everyone.  You can read more about it and get yourself a box here.
The boxes are sent via courier and are dispatched quickly once you have selected your items.

You can see all the choices for the December box here.
My first choice actually consisted of two Awapuhi Wild Ginger products:
Hydrocream Whip 70ml - 200ml retails for £19.99 here making the sample worth £7.00
Hydromist Blow-Out Spray 25ml - 150ml is £17.95 here making the sample worth £3.00
My second choice was a full size, 15ml, Dr Nick Lowe Age Correct Eye Serum, this retails for £19.00 here.
The two items that everyone gets are 2ml Jimmy Choo Flash Perfume and a mini Green & Blacks chocolate bar!

Have you got this box?  I think it would make a fantastic Christmas present for someone!

So Susan Lacquerlove Launch Box

So Susan have launched a monthly subscription box called Lacquerlove, it is priced at £14.95 plus P&P.  The box will contain 4 full size products, 3 of the products will be nail polishes.

You will be able to preview the box before buying so no nasty surprises! You can read more about the boxes here.
The box is nice and sturdy and has a magnetic fastening.
There are four full size 9ml polishes in the launch box*, each comes in its own individual box.
The polishes have numbers on the bottles rather than names, the names are on the boxes though.  This could be confusing!
Mimosa - 12 is a pale pink which is quite sheer
Raspberry - 17 is a glossy red
Pink Guava - 21 is a bright pink (my favourite!)
Silver Clouds - 26 is a grey/lilac with a subtle shimmer running through, very pretty

I have tried number 17, two coats is virtually opaque but I would probably go for three coats next time as I can see a bit of my nail line.  The polish dries very quickly.

The polishes do not contain DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate), Toluene, Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde Resin.  They do not contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, tricolsan, animal by products or phthalates.  They are also cruelty free.

The polishes contain Rosehip fruit oil to moisturise and strengthen your nails and the delicate skin around it.

You can buy the launch box here.

*The launch box was kindly sent to me to review.

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Review

I was so excited when I heard about this product! I hate moisturising my body it really feels like a chore (lazy blogger!) so when I heard about a moisturiser you apply in the shower I couldn't wait to try it!
It comes in two varieties - Normal Skin and Dry Skin, I purchased the Normal Skin version.
400ml retails for £5.10 here.
The product is very easy to use and it is absorbed quickly by the skin.  Make sure you do rinse the shower/bath thoroughly though as it leaves a very slippy residue.
The cream is a medium consistency, no different than a normal body moisturiser.
List of ingredients.

So review time....I was really disappointed with this product. It is the same consistency and smells like a well known brand of hair removing cream which was very off putting when applying to the whole of your body! Hubby says it smells like hand cream though so it could be my nose.  It makes the shower tray extremely slippy even after I have rinsed it.
Personally I don't find it moisturising at all, I notice no difference between using it and not using it.

I am so disappointed, this is such a great concept and I thought I had found an easy way to moisturise my body.

Have you tried this?

Nails Inc Westminster and Dollish Polish Inconceivable

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I am a big Dollish Polish fan, this has to be the maddest glitter polish that I have ever seen and I LOVE it!
Nails Inc Westminster
Dollish Polish Inconceivable
Two coats, although it was virtually opaque in one.   A beautiful purple creme,  no topcoat and look how glossy it dries!
This polish is absolutely packed full of glitter!

This polish is described on the Dollish website as:
Featuring over 50 different glitters,(53 to be exact, inconceivable!) This is the ULTIMATE topper with Squares, Hexagons, and Circle glitters in every colors of the rainbow, and everything in between, giving you a completely different look with each use. This topper really is inconceivable!
This is one coat of Inconceivable - yes, you read that correctly one coat!

Taken in artificial light with Seche Vite topcoat.
It is very hard to capture how sparkly the glitters are!
Natural light.
Natural light.

This polish is just mad! I couldn't stop looking at my nails!

You Beauty Discovery Box - Handbag Heroes

The October You Beauty Discovery Box is based on Handbag Heroes!

This is the second box they have released, you can read my review on the September box here.  The October choices were released right at the beginning of the month and shipping is fast, my box arrived today via courier.
The box contains a small magazine with details about all the products for the month, plus beauty articles.
The concept of the box is that you choose two items from a selection and they include a couple of items that are the same in all the boxes.
These are the items that are in all the boxes this month -

Full size Nakd bar - I got Berry Delight.  The bars contain only raw fruit and nuts, no sugar or nasties.  I have tried a few of these bars and they are absolutely delicious, they are very filling too as they are quite dense.  I hadn't tried this flavour before and it is yummy!

These are the ingredients Raw Dates 49%, Raw Cashews 31%, Raw Raisins 17%, Raw Raspberries 3%, a Hint of Natural Berry Flavour.  They retail for 75p here.

A handbag mirror - these are always useful for putting in your bag, I'm forever losing mirrors and tweezers!

This is the first item that I choose.  A compact tangle teezer, this retails for £12.25 here.

I really like this! I was a bit worried about it being "compact" but it actually fits perfectly into my palm.  This is definitely a handbag hero!
This is the second item I choose Noble Isle Bath and Shower gel in Willow Song 75ml.  250ml retails for £20.00 here, making the travel size worth £6.00.

An unreservedly romantic fragrance, remindful of floaty green florals and mellow woods, enriched with extracts of willow bark and water lily, known for their soothing properties.

Fragrance Notes
Top notes: Rose Petal, Ivy
Heart notes: Watermelon, Lily of the Valley
Base notes: Cedarwood, Musk

I have an obsession with shower gels at the moment and this smells so lovely!

I'm delighted with this box, I feel the contents really fit in with the theme of the box and it is fantastic value at only £6.95 delivered!

You can find out more about the company and subscribe to the box here.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser Review

I got this cleanser in the British Beauty Blogger BBB Edit Box and was looking forward to trying it out as I have read some great reviews.

It is a 3-in-1 cleanser and is described on Philosophy's website - our award-winning daily facial skin cleanser is formulated to gently cleanse, tone and melt away all face and eye makeup in one simple step, while lightly hydrating the skin.
The cleanser is light cream coloured and the consistency of shampoo.  It claims to be suitable for all skintypes.  90ml retails for £8.00 here.

I'm afraid I didn't get on with this product, it did remove my makeup well but I found it left my skin feeling very tight and dry and not at all hydrated.

I have normal skin which does tend to lean towards being dry around this time of year as the weather gets cooler.

I have used up all the bottle but I wouldn't repurchase so it's a thumbs down from me!

Have you tried this? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Inhibitif Hair-Free Deodorant

I first read about inhibitif when Sam did a review over at Honey Go-Lightly so when I popped into Boots at the beginning of the week to pick up some deodorant and saw this on the shelf I picked it straight up!
The deodorant contains 50ml and retails for £8.99 in Boots and on the Inhibitif website.
The deodorant claims to minimise the need for hair removal within 2 months when used daily.  As I am a brunette my underarm hairs are quite dark, I shave under them every time I shower so it would be nice to have fuzz free armpits!
The deodorant is a standard roll on.  It does have a mint fragrance which is very bizarre! Looking on their website though they do a Fragrance Free version which I would prefer, but they only had the mint one in my local Boots.

I will do a review in a month and then again at the end of the two months, you will have to trust my word though as I won't be doing before and after photos! ;)

After looking on their website I can see they do a range of products and you can read more about how it works.  You can find their website here.

What do you think?  Would you give this product a go?

Rimmel Metal Rush Pearly Queen Review

I must admit I have so many polishes in my stash that I have not yet tried, I really must try not to buy any more until I have worked my way through them (yeah who am I kidding, can't resist the pretties!! ).

Rimmel Metal Rush Pearly Queen was one of these polishes.
Pearly Queen is from a small range of duo chrome polishes from Rimmel.

It is a silvery lilac that shifts to green and gold.  It is quite sheer all the pics show three coats plus topcoat.  It dried quickly and the wear time was very good - I think I got 4 days without it chipping which is a long time on my nails.
You can see the different colours coming through the polish and it looks so pretty and sparkly in the bottle....
....unfortunately I really didn't like it on my nails.

I personally found the colour too wishy washy for my personal taste and I don't think it suits my skintone.
It is quite pretty when it shifts to the greeny gold colour, this was taken in artificial light.
This is in natural light.
Even on this pic I think it looks much nicer in the bottle!

This polish is not for me, I have passed it on to my sister.  I maybe should have tried it over a base colour but I'm trying to be a bit ruthless with my polishes!

If you like it you can buy it for £3.99 here.  Have you tried any of the Metal Rush polishes?

balance Me Super Moisturising Body Oil Review

balance Me is a UK company that was founded in 2005 by sisters Rebecca and Claire,  the brand has grown significantly over the past two years and has recently been launched in Debenhams.

balance Me uses hi-tech natural formulations to create their products, which do not contain parabens, sulphates, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, des, pegs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances or colours.
I was contacted by balance Me to ask if I wanted to try their products, I told them that I had just had a baby and they recommended trying this product as Super Moisturising Body Oil* was created when Rebecca became pregnant with her first baby to help minimise the risk of the appearance of stretch marks.

It is also recommended for use during weight gain or loss to help minimise the risk of developing scars and for reducing the appearance of existing stretch marks.

The bottle contains 200ml and retails for £24.50 on their website.

A little of the oil goes a long way so this size bottle would last a good while!
The oil has a thin consistency and I found it absorbed quite quickly, although I would recommend waiting a few minutes after application before getting dressed.  The oil does not leave any residue once it is absorbed.  I have been using on on my arms as well as my tummy as they get quite dry.  I do find this really does get rid of the dry patches.
This the list of ingredients.

The oil has a nice subtle smell from the ingredients - the one I can smell most strongly is the rosehip oil.

Have you tried this oil or anything else from the balance Me brand?
